People who have resolved to make 2013 a happier, healthier year are being invited to enrol on Do Something Different, Healthy Weight Happy Life courses.

This year’s first Healthy Weight Happy Life course will begin in King’s Lynn on Thursday 24 January at Bishop’s Lynn House. Sessions will be held from 2-3.30pm on Thursdays for six weeks and the final session will be held on 28 March.

Ronel Erasmus, Project Manager, said: “The Healthy Weight Happy Life course is suitable for anyone who wants to lead a happier, healthier life and can help people to manage their weight, be more active, quit smoking, reduce stress and improve low mood. The course is fun, supportive and above all, practical, giving people the tools they need to make long-term changes to their habits and make positive changes to their lifestyle.”

The course is broken down in to  seven sessions. The first six take place on consecutive weeks (wherever possible). Sessions will cover topics such as nutrition, activity, stress management and behaviour change. The final session is held a month after the sixth session and provides an opportunity for participants to review their progress and seek further advice, having tested the methods for themselves. The seven-week course costs £35.

The Do Something Different, Healthy Weight Happy Life programme was developed by the University of Hertfordshire. The West Norfolk Partnership is delivering the programme in west Norfolk.
