Mayor's Business Awards
Mayor’s Business Awards publicly acknowledge outstanding business achievement and the contribution that businesses make to the West Norfolk economy.
Established in 1989, by former mayor Cllr Les Daubney, the awards recognise the achievements of local businesses and provide them with the perfect opportunity to showcase their success. We have joined forces with the Lynn News to make the awards bigger and better than ever.
The awards were launched on 9 October and there are nine categories to enter this year. Businesses can enter as many as they wish:
- Mayor's Business of the Year Award
- Community Event of the Year (reader nominations/reader vote)
- Apprentice/Trainee of the Year
- Customer Care
- Contribution to the Community
- Independent Retailer
- Leisure & Tourism
- Small Growing Business (for up to five years)
- Business Person of the Year
Borough Mayor Cllr Colin Manning, said: "Over the last few months as Mayor I have had the pleasure of visiting a number of different businesses located in our borough. Some are new ventures and some very well established. All are confident that the business sector is recovering well from the recession and are looking forward confidently towards the future.
"I am also personally convinced that the current business climate is exciting and want all local business men and women to consider putting their enterprises forward for the Business Awards. I am pleased we can recognise the magnificent examples of talent that exist in our West Norfolk businesses that are making such a huge contribution to our economy."
