Welcome to Care and Repair

We are a “not-for-profit” Home Improvement Agency which provides a range of services to help people live independently in their homes in an environment which is healthy, safe and secure.

We provide the following services for older people and people who have disabilities or who are on a low income:

• advice and assistance on adapting, repairing, and improving homes, and
• a handyperson service.

We also provide a Careline alarm service which provides emergency assistance 24 hours a day, every day of the year at a reasonable weekly charge, and which is available to anyone.

Care & Repair works in partnership with FirstStop. This is a Government-funded organisation which provides older people and their carers with advice on care, housing, finance and rights.

Financed by a number of local authorities and statutory organisations and supported by a range of voluntary organisations, Care and Repair has helped several thousands clients since it was established in 1999.
