West Norfolk School for Parents
|
Schools for Parents Network is for children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties and their carers
School for Parents provides early education for pre-school children with motor learning difficulties
It aims to develop children's abilities and confidence in the pre-school years to prepare for life at home and for the next stage in their education
School for Parents puts parents at the forefront of their child's learning and development and acknowledges that parents know their child best
Our specially trained staff work together in groups of up to six children with their parent/carer during weekly sessions. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours including a short break for a drink and snack
The sessions are carefully planned to involve all aspects of development (physical, social, emotional and understanding). A theme is chosen to make these sessions fun. Each session includes play, songs, art and craft and movement
West Norfolk School for Parents is primarily for pre-school children within West Norfolk and the surrounding area who have motor learning difficulties.
A child can be referred to West Norfolk School for Parents in a variety of ways; through a GP, a Health Visitor, Early Years Practitioners such as Therapists or by parents themselves. On first contact, the parent and child will be invited to visit the group, or the Team Leader will arrange for a home visit.
West Norfolk School for Parents is held in the crèche area of Lynnsport and Leisure Park, Greenpark Avenue, Kings Lynn, PE30 2NB. There is ample parking and most parts of the building can be accessed by wheelchairs.
Currently the service is provided free of charge.
