Find your Borough Councillor, County Councillor, MP, MEP and Parish Clerk

This page provides information about your Borough Councillor, Norfolk County Councillor, Parish Clerk, East of England European Parliament Members (MEPs),  and Local Member of Parliament (MP), and how you can contact them.

Your Borough Councillor can help you in a number of ways. You can contact them if you feel unhappy with the services provided by the Borough Council, or if you would like some action to be taken on issues affecting your local community or the Borough as a whole.

If you are not sure if your query or concern is the responsibility of the Borough Council you can still contact your councillor who will, if necessary pass your comments on to the relevant body.

Borough Council Organisation

The Borough Council is made up of 62 Councillors who represent the 42 Wards into which the Borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk is divided. Each Ward elects its Councillor(s) once every four years.

There are currently 53 Councillors in the Conservative Group - which forms a majority administration, 4 Councillors in the Labour Group, 4 Councillors in the Liberal Democrat Group and 1 Independent Councillor.  The next Borough Council Election will take place in May 2011.

Once every four years residents of the Borough elect 14 Councillors to Norfolk County Council to represent the interests of the residents of the borough.
When taking office Borough Councillors have to agree to abide by the Councillors Code of Conduct.

Following the transfer of the Council's Housing Stock to Freebridge Community Housing a protocol has been produced for Borough Councillors for any housing enquiries.  It includes a form for the tenant to sign to enable Freebridge Community Housing to disclose information to your Borough Councillor.  Click here to view this information and download a copy of the form.
