A limited number of conifers are available in the Gardens of Remembrance for use as memorials. You may decide how many years you wish to lease a memorial for, to a maximum of 40 years, and pay the appropriate fee to the Borough Council.

The conifer remains the property of the Crematorium by whom it will be maintained or replaced as appropriate. A separate fee is charged for the cast bronze inscription plate that is placed at the foot of the conifer.

The memorial right may be extended during the period of the lease by payment of the appropriate fee. You may wish to do this if you require an additional name to be added to the inscription plate or to have a second plate fixed. The memorial right can also be renewed at the end of the lease on payment of the appropriate fee. If you wish to have the inscription plate replaced at any time a fee will be charged. Refurbishment of the inscription plate can be arranged at any time at your expense.

It is the responsibility of the memorial right owner to ensure that the right is renewed by the appropriate date if it is desired to continue the memorial right. The Crematorium will write to the last known address of the memorial right owner from time to time and when the memorial right is due for renewal. You are recommended to notify the crematorium if you change your address.

In those cases where the memorial right is not renewed the inscription plate(s) will be removed and another family may use the conifer. Any cremated remains at the foot of a memorial conifer will not be disturbed if the memorial right lapses but the right to place related cremated remains at the foot of the conifer will be lost.

For an additional fee you may arrange to be present when the cremated remains are either strewn at the foot of the selected conifer or buried there in either an Urn, available from the Crematorium, or a Wooden Casket, which can be supplied by your Funeral Director or by the Crematorium. This ceremony normally takes place Monday to Friday at a time convenient to you but a limited number of appointments are available on a Saturday.

The Borough Council reserves the right to amend the fees charged and any maintenance specified in these notes.

Details of the fees due for the memorial right, inscription plates, etc are set out below. Cheques should be made payable to 'Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk ' or 'BCKLWN'. You may also pay by credit/debit card.
